Callie

Big Dog

Dueling Pit Bulls

Big Dog has been with this family since he was a pup and is very devoted to and protective of his "mom". Last November "mom" adopted Callie and it didn't take long for the two of them to start fighting. Callie is a very exuberant dog and loves to jump around and jump on people. She is also not completely house trained.

Because of these issues, her owners decided to take her back to the rescue where they got her. The lady that runs the rescue called me and asked if I could fix the problems and paid for the rehabilitation herself.

Three weeks ago I started working with Callie and Big Dog one hour a week with lots of homework for their owners. The pictures you see are Callie and Big Dog today - 3/27/2010. They are learning focus and self control, walking and how to direct their energy to fun things instead of fighting. They haven't had a fight since the first day (rehabilitation day) and now the owners are comfortable leaving them alone together.

More Sibling Squabbles

Three boxer/boxer mixes Titan, Sonora and Elway. Titan is a 6 year old boxer mix, Elway is an 11 month old boxer and Sonora is a beautiful 6 year old Boxer/Chihuahua mix.

Elway is just entering his teens and is starting to push at Titan about who owns what toys, people, spaces and treats. The tussles aren't very serious yet, but they are serious enough that the owners called me in to re-create the brotherly love.

Sonora, of course, jumps into the middle of all the fights even though under normal circumstances she is very shy and doesn't like new things.

Even MORE Sibling Squabbles

Phinneas is a 1.5 year old long haired Chihuahua and Tucker is a 3.5 year old Cairn Terrier/Jack Russell mix. About three months ago, they started having those sibling squabbles over food, toys, space and mommy's attention that seems to happen in multi-dog housholds when the youngest dog hits it's teens. (between 9 and 18 months with most dogs).
